McGowan’s is taking a Kongsberg i-XP cutting table and also installing ArtiosCAD software from EskoArtwork. With a significant amount of the company’s production now targeted at the POP and POS sector this new investment is designed to increase output speed from the M-Press as well as equipping McGowan’s with dedicated tools specifically designed for structural design, product development, virtual prototyping and manufacturing. Both products have been bought from The Reprocentre.

MD of McGowan’s, Tony Roe said: “The Kongsberg i-XP table will allow much higher runs of units that come off the Agfa M-Press without having the cost of a forme. It has been especially designed for handling the combination of corrugated board and other rigid or roll materials used in POP products and product displays and it should ensure that the finishing end of the production process is greatly speeded up.”

Add in the design capabilities of McGowan’s new ArtiosCAD software with its intelligent drafting tools, re-build design features and 3 D design and Roe is confident that this new package will give the company another new powerful tool in its armoury.

“ArtiosCAD is the ideal product for all corrugated, folding carton and POP display designing,” he added. “The fact that it will allow McGowan’s to send a 3D proof to clients without having to do mock-ups is just one of the many benefits of this software.”
