Universal Graphics, based in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, has taken delivery of its first flatbed printer, a 3.2m HP Scitex FB6100. The investment is expected to enable Universal Graphics to offer its clients additional POS/POP solutions on a wide range of rigid material.
The HP Scitex FB6100 can convert to roll-fed and is designed for heavy-volume industrial print companies which demand high-quality output with fast turnaround times on a wide array of media including uncoated rigid and roll-fed media particularly aimed at point-of-purchase displays.
Barry Murray, operations director at Universal, said: “We purchased the HP Scitex FB6100 to increase the company’s ability to service its existing brands and also to make production more efficient particularly for indoor signs. It means we can now print directly onto a substrate and eliminate mounting. Universal Graphics is a brand solution provider for a lot of blue chip companies and this just allows us to provide a complete service to the company’s existing customers.”
With the ability to print directly onto rigid, thick, or specialty media such as glass, wood, metals, or more conventional susbtrates like foam board PVC, corrugated plastic, and MDO/MDF up to 50mm thick the HP Scitex FB6100 is an ideal production printer for POP/POS applications.
“Since the new printer will allow Universal to print onto aluminium, Corriboard, Diabond etc., it will also be ideal for large displays and exhibition work ,” added Murray.
