One of the country’s leading pioneers of POS, outdoor and other large-format digital print, Print and Display, has made two major investments, one in a 3.2m wide roll-to-roll HP Scitex LX850 latex printer which was installed in July and a Eskoartworks Kongsberg i-XP24C cutting table which is due for delivery in October.
The HP LX850 has been bought to enhance the company’s production capabilities, particularly in the high-end retail POS market. Allied to this the investment is the Eskoartworks Kongsberg i-XP24C table, designed to significantly increase Print and Display’s finishing capability at its plant in Tallaght, Dublin 24.
MD Ronan Conway commented: “The LX850 was bought with a view to high image quality, low volume digital work, primarily for the high-end retail POS market and the vehicle graphics market. With a print resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi, the print quality is leaps and bounds ahead of any other wide-format machine in its class. The high quality of the print also opens up new markets for Print and Display such as flags, wall papers, canvas prints and much more. There are also a number of environmental benefits to this printer as well since the ink is water based and solvent free which means that there are no hazardous air pollutants.”
Ronan said that the Eskoartworks Kongsberg i-XP24C cutting table has been purchased with automatic feeding to allow it to be a true production machine.
“The machine will significantly increase our finishing capability and also removes the requirement for cutting forms,” he added. “Apart from its corrugated applications, the Eskoartworks Kongsberg table will open up significant new markets for the company, as it will have the capability to cut acrylics, reboard/falcon board type materials”
