One of Ireland’s largest commercial printing companies, Standard Printers of Ballybrit, Galway, is expanding its wide-format division in response to increase demands from clients in the exhibition/display and POS/POP sectors. Production director Peter Cunningham said the company is now in a position to supply the sign and display market with most of its digital print solutions after undergoing a steep learning curve since the company bought its first wide-format hybrid printer, an Agfa Anapurna M.
“Traditionally Standard has been focussed on commercial litho and small format digital print,,” said Cunningham. “Quite a number of our clients however now require high quality point of sale items as well as banners, exhibition stands, lightbox graphics and posters. It’s a market sector that Standard can now confidently compete in while at the same time adding value for the customer through a very experienced in-house design team.
“The company decided recently that it was very important to increase its foothold in the sign and display area, which is still somewhat buoyant, considering the overall economic climate prevailing in Ireland at present. Standard’s wide-format division can now offer photorealistic quality prints up to 160cm wide on a wide variety of rigid and roll media which are suitable for POP, displays, posters as well as exhibition panels and hoardings.”
